It’s amazing the difference between real Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice and what is marketed as fresh squeezed, natural or pure orange juice. In the above video I show you how I squeeze the oranges I get from California so I can have fresh squeezed orange juice everyday. I also show you the difference between actual fresh squeezed and what is marketed as real orange juice.
Supposedly “Simply Orange” is the best and most nutritious orange juice on the market. Well, as you watch the video you will be enlightened to the fact that most store bought orange juice isn’t orange at all. It’s actually yellow. I guess someone forgot to attend the colors of the rainbow day in art class.
Now with the cat out of the bag on how orange juice companies squeeze oranges, de-oxygenate the juice and then add “flavor packs” with additional chemicals in order to make the taste more consistent because it becomes flavorless after this process, it’s no surprise that the very juice you thought healthy really isn’t. You see that “Marketing Science” not Nutritional Science is actually at work here.
According to Food Renegade:
“Juice companies therefore hire flavor and fragrance companies… to engineer flavor packs to add back to the juice to make it taste fresh. Flavor packs aren’t listed as an ingredient on the label because technically they are derived from orange essence and oil. Yet those in the industry will tell you that the flavor packs, whether made for reconstituted or pasteurized orange juice, resemble nothing found in nature.”
Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
Yep… marketing science. It’s hilarious what companies get away with in the name of health.
Fresh squeezed orange juice is like the Nectar of the Gods and I use the Breville Citrus Juicer to juice the many cases of oranges I get from Valencia, CA each month. Watch the above video and see for yourself how different the store bought is than fresh squeezed orange juice.
